Usually, we feel a burning desire to share a message.
Being an actor is felt within our body, mind and spirit.
It’s a state of mind, that we usually wear on our proverbial sleeve.
Every actor is also very different, and although we share overlapping traits, that we can carry with us as part of our overall makeup, as story tellers, being an actor is almost on par to that of our sexuality.
We can always deny who we are all we want, however that won’t make who we are go away, and in some cases, unhappiness may result, especially if we choose not to own who we truly are.
Actors are both extroverts and introverts, and we spawn from all walks of life.
Some of us even find ourselves tripping over our own self validation, especially when others ask us, “Oh, so what have I seen you in?”
Just because others may not be familiar with our work, does that make the actor any less of an actor?
This is where it remains absolutely vital for actors to keep on creating, to keep on working, to keep on breathing as story tellers.
What ever it takes, just keep that fire burning, because if being the actor is our true calling, longevity will find us, we don’t have to go searching for it.
Being an actor is about being your own business, and once we arrive at this mindset, the whole concept of what it means to be an actor, can completely morph into something amazing and exciting, however nothing worthwhile usually occurs without hard work, and as actor, we must celebrate rejection rather than despise it, because 99% of what we do will be rejected.
It’s the 1% of what we do, that we must be 100% ready for it if/when it arrives.
Preparation, Preparation, Preparation.
